Lower Columbia Electric Vehicle Association

NOTE: The day of the monthly meetings has been changed to the second and fourth Tuesday of the month starting January 2012. There will be no second meeting in December 2011.

Meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at Lower Columbia College Auto Department on 15th Ave across the street from WinCo in Longview. Limited parking is in front of the Auto Shop door. Parking is available south of the Auto Building and North of the Student Center on the West side of 15th Ave. Parking is also available North of the Auto Building in the Staff parking since we meet after 5:00pm. A map is here: LCC Show and tell starts at 6:30pm and the regular meeting starts at 7pm. There is a second working meeting each month on the fourth Tuesday of the month where we work on the EVs.

This month's meetings: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 and January 24, 2012.

At the our last meeting of 2011 each of us had a chance to drive the LCC EV. It drives quite smoothly since Ives of Synkro Motive came up last month and updated the firmware to the current release. Because of fiscal year issues we ended up with a controller which had beta code in it so that we wouldn't lose the funding for the controller. Ives has been a great help and a very knowledgeable guy. The Synkro Motive controllers are definitely worth considering for your EV.

The LCC pickup conversion is nearly finished. We just have some fine tuning to do. Come see the progress.

I'm sure Wade Patterson will be bringing his Zero motorcycle and I think he hopes to have a quad EV at the meeting, too. David Nelson's Gizmo will also be showing up with its Lithium-ion batteries installed. To check on progress see http://2003gizmo.blogspot.com.

Meeting related notes & links

At one of the meetings it was suggested that we come up with a list of topics to cover during our first meeting of the month. Remember that the second meeting of the month is a “working meeting” and not so much of a Show-n-tell, presentation type meeting. To see a list of potential topics click here: Topics
