Lower Columbia Electric Vehicle Association

NOTE: New meeting location

Meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month at Lower Columbia College Auto Department on 15th Ave across the street from WinCo in Longview. Limited parking is in front of the Auto Shop door. Parking is available south of the Auto Building and North of the Student Center on the West side of 15th Ave. Parking is also available North of the Auto Building in the Staff parking since we meet after 5:00pm. A map is here: LCC Show and tell starts at 6:30pm and the regular meeting starts at 7pm.

Next meeting is on February 2, 2010. This is the third meeting in conjunction with the LCC Electric Vehicle Club.

I'm sure Wade Patterson will be bringing his Zero motorcycle and I think he hopes to have a quad EV at the meeting, too. David Nelson's Gizmo will also be showing up and, barring any difficulties, he should have his Lithium-ion batteries installed. To check on progress see http://2003gizmo.blogspot.com.

We have a Ning site setup to facilitate communication among group members: http://lccevc.ning.com. If you are a member of either organization or would like to participate, go to the site and request a membership. If you are not currently in our LCEVA email list please include info in an email to me (see link below) about who you are and why you want to join.

Meeting related notes & links

At the January 5, 2010 meeting there were several new attendees. The LCC group elected officers. The bylaws will now be worked on with a member from the LCEVA and LCCEVC.

At the March 5, 2009 meeting we had Dave Kois and Gene Seymour from Powered By DC, LLC drive down from Olympia in their converted Toyota RAV4 EV. Check out their website including photos of the RAV4 at www.poweredbydc.com. Dave and Gene are awesome, down-to-earth people. They give you straight information and did an awesome job on the conversion. (May 2009 update: Powered By DC, LLC is now doing regular bulk buy orders of large format Sky Energy LiFePO4 Lithium batteries useful for EVs. You can order them at http://www.evcomponents.com.)
